Virtue is a matter of avoiding extremes.

Discussion Questions
- Are you a “there is no black and white” person or a “everything is black and white” person? What’s the danger for each type?
- What is one “grey” area – no clear moral imperative – that you are dealing with right now?
- How should we relate to one another in these grey areas? What should we do? What do we usually do instead?
- Aristotle said that virtue is finding the mean between two extremes. We all agree that too much food and drink is a bad thing. But what about too little?
- Which presents a greater danger to the church – immorality or moralism? (Hint: both but we tend to worry more about one than the other – why?)
- Where does the power for change come from? Read Colossians 2:23 and Titus 2:11-14 again. What are the implications for your own struggle with sin? How do they impact your parenting? How should they impact the way you befriend others?
