Discussion Questions

1. Take time to “gospel” one another. What good news can you share?
2. What personal standards, rules, or “laws” do you have that you hold for yourself and others? How well do you do in living up to them? What about God’s law?
3. Discuss the difference between viewing Christianity as primarily about something we have to do versus the gospel being Good News of what’s been done for us. How do the two feel differently?
4. How does the cross free you to be honest about your sins with God, yourself, and others? (1 John 1:9)
5. The cross shows us that we’re worse than we think we are, but more loved than we could ever imagine. Discuss how that gives us both humility and security.
6. What is your “boast”? What gives you security, joy, hope, peace? How is the cross of Jesus better than anything else we can boast in? (Gal. 6:14)
