Outline

Introduction: What do you lose sleep over?
I. A THRESHING SLED
“Courage is not the absence of fear; rather the assessment that something else is more important than the fear.” - FDR
II. NAILED DOWN IDOLS
“Idols will eventually fail to deliver and break your heart.” - Tim Keller
III. "I AM WITH YOU"
“If you rightly fear the Lord you will be unafraid.”

Discussion Questions

  1. What keeps you up at night? What do you lose sleep over?
  2. What idols do you (sinfully) turn to for help when you feel most afraid?
  3. Do you believe that God is for you? How does the gospel help you believe?
  4. What would it look like for you to live unafraid? What would you do that you don't currently have the courage to do? What would you stop doing that you currently are afraid of stopping? (Hint: answer this last question in light of God's mission not your personal comfort.)
