Discussion Questions

1. When was the last time you felt “dehydrated” spiritually, emotionally, or relationally? What were you looking to for satisfaction, security, or significance?
2. Jeremiah 2:12–13 describes God’s people forsaking “the fountain of living waters” and making “broken cisterns.” What are some “broken cisterns” people commonly turn to today? Which ones are most tempting for you?
3. Jesus asks, “How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?” Where do you feel most tempted to manage your image or prove that you are “somebody”? How does that affect your faith and obedience?
4. In John 4 and 7, Jesus offers living water to thirsty people. What would it look like this week to come to Jesus and drink rather than trying to satisfy your thirst somewhere else?
